Our experienced therapists

Meet our team

Our experienced team of Denver therapists are here to meet the needs of our community, including couples, families, the elderly, adults, young adults, teens, and children 0-5.

We will be happy to match you with the right therapist and the right therapy for you.

Kim Johancen, MA, LPC
Brainspotting and EMDR Certified Therapist

Kim’s brother died by suicide when she was 16, which is why she became a therapist. She has decades of experience with suicidal/self-injuring teens and families and helping clients resolve trauma symptoms and process the events that fuel them. Her practice currently focuses on working with teens and adults who have experienced divorce, partner abuse, and sexual trauma.  Kim loves walking alongside her clients on their unique healing journeys.

The founder of Clear View Counseling, Kim is devoted to educating and supporting her team of therapists and interns, and to providing accessible, quality therapy for the Denver community. She offers talks and training around the country on topics including trauma care for students and educators, along with psychological debriefs for schools, agencies, and businesses after the occurrence of a traumatic event such as suicide. Kim was recently voted on to the board of the Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee focused on family law issues.

She uses a combination of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Brainspotting to help them find meaning and peace in their lives. She works with trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and adults with unresolved trauma. She knows it’s powerful to have a therapist who believes in you, even when you may not believe in yourself.
