In A Hundred Years

In a hundred years no one is going to care about the mistakes we make, the balls we drop, or the things we do out of anger, grief, or sadness.  Although The Golden Rule is important, and a guide throughout our lives, we can only do our best and sometimes our best isn’t so golden.

We are hurt.  We are grieving.  We are human.

We tend to be hard on ourselves, others, and expect the impossible it seems.  We have to continue driving, performing, sacrificing our needs for others 98% of the time.  When our minds start to fog over and our bodies begin to break down we still go at unrealistic speeds.  Not heeding what our bodies are telling us can cause irreversible damage but so many of us continue to run through the pain…until we can’t.

I know that you want to achieve amazing things in your life and you deserve those amazing things…particularly if you are willing to work for them.  But if you forget to take care of yourself along the way you will most certainly get off course.  You will forget why you are working so hard or end up chasing something that is not really that important to you.  Stop being so hard on yourself and stop beating yourself up for your shortcomings or for your need to slow down.  Getting ahead means living a full life by tending to what makes you happy..NOW.  Don’t neglect living a full life in your pursuit of the next thing.  Balance is hard for all of us just do your best.

It is the journey not the destination.

In a hundred years who is going to care?

Slow and steady wins the race.

Treat others the way you want to be treated.
